Fire Safety Permits

There are four different types of Fire Safety Permits that can be issued for a variety of different reasons. Some of the common reasons Fire Safety Permit include the following:

  • Bonfires
  • Tents (900 square foot or more, or 30 feet or more in any dimension)
  • Torch Roofing / Tar Kettle Roofing
  • Fireworks
  • Pesticide fogging
  • Use of specific non-residential occupancies for overnight stays
  • Use of flames or flame producing devices with public gathering
  • Use of flames or flame producing devices for training non-fire service personnel
  • Welding or cutting operations
  • Possession or use of explosives or blasting agents
  • Use of any multipurpose room (occupancy of more than 100) for amusement, entertainment or mercantile type purposes

All activities noted above require a fire safety permit.
